The first trailer for Warcraft debuted a while back, showing off stunning visual imagery. And so far, fans of the original game appear to be happy with how the adaptation is being handled. However, the movie may be hard to sell to people outside the gaming community. User Aerial51zd has put together a comparison of various locations between the game screenshots and stills from the latest movie trailer. One can tell how well the director Duncan Jones, along with his team, did at putting it all together. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
Both Stormwind Harbor and Stormwind City were re-created perfectly and truly seem to come alive for the movie. No less spectacular are the Stormwind Keep, Draenor, and Hellfire Peninsula. This is probably why fans have such high hopes for the final product.
Many fantasy elements were created exclusively with the help of visual effects, including the orc characters that audience is expected to get invested in. Actors’ performances have been motion-captured similar to the way James Cameron created Na’vi, that connected with viewers despite being an alien race.
Among the cast of WarCraft are Travis Fimmel (playing Anduin Lothar), Ben Foster (Medivh), Ruth Negga (Lady Taria), Paula Patton (Garona), Toby Kebbell (Durotan), Robert Kazinsky (Orgrim), and Dominic Cooper (King Llane Wrynn).
A new international TV spot was also released for the movie. However, it is a condensed version of the trailer and won’t reveal any new scenes.
Stay tuned to find out more! Warcraft is set to premiere June 10th, 2016.
